The day I killed iam46

The day I realised iam46.com will not scale as a business idea. Oh well, onto the next one.

I'd spent weeks building a quantified self platform that streamed live heart rate data from my Apple Watch, tracked my location, and pulled in my Instagram feed. It was technically impressive (to me, at least) and genuinely fun to build. But sitting down with a Lean Canvas forced an honest conversation: the addressable market was basically just me. No unfair advantage, no clear revenue model, no path to customers who weren't already wearing my specific watch.

Killing a project you love because the business case doesn't hold up is one of the most useful product management skills there is. The technical work wasn't wasted though; everything I learnt about APIs, real-time data, and health integrations fed directly into my next projects.
